Clifton Pier Fuel Terminal

Smarter distribution.
Clifton Pier Terminal Overview
01. Location
Global Eagle’s Clifton Terminal is located on the western end of New Providence Island, The Bahamas, occupying a 0.70-acre site (505 ft x 60 ft).
02. Purpose
The terminal is designed to receive, store, and distribute Jet A-1 and Avgas—fuels commonly used in aviation.
03. Fuel Supply
Jet A-1 is received from offshore barges via a jetty connected to an 8” pipe header. This system feeds seven vertical storage tanks and supplies fuel to truck loading bays equipped with Honeywell filtration and metering technology.
04. Storage Capacity
Seven stainless steel tanks (TK01–TK07) provide a combined operational capacity of 2,315,900 US gallons.
05. Monitoring Systems
Each tank is equipped with level and temperature monitoring, high/low switches, and pressure indicators. All signals are centralized through a Distributed Control System (DCS) panel. Water detectors ensure product integrity.
06. Construction Quality
All tanks and piping are constructed of food-grade stainless steel to maintain fuel purity and prevent corrosion. Manual valves offer reliable control.
07. Filtration & Metering
Truck loading is powered by dual 50 HP pumps (450 GPM capacity) and includes a Honeywell skid with:
- Coalescer filters (water removal)
- Metering system (550 GPM)
- Filter, control valve, batch controller, static grounding, and loading arm
Three additional pumps (550 GPM each) handle inter-tank transfers and deliveries to the jetty.
08. Control & Power
Operations are monitored from a dedicated control room. Electrical systems operate on 440 V, 3-phase, 60 Hz, with full motor and lighting control infrastructure.
09. Fire Safety
Fire protection includes:
- Diesel pump (1,350 GPM)
- 70,500-gallon water tank
- Foam system, deluge systems, monitors, and ring mains
- Flame/spill detectors, alarm points, horns, and strobes
10. Instrumentation
All control and instrumentation systems are supplied by Honeywell, featuring:
- Local batch control
- Overfill detection
- Density, temperature, and pressure transmitters
- Offline system monitoring
